Serial entrepreneur Jim Jannard had designed for his then start-up, Oakley, to focus only on technical eyewear for sports. That's till arrival of Oakley Frogskins in 1985. And while its form was similar to that regarding Ray-Ban Wayfarer, Jannard threw each of the advancements in technology into the Frogskins’ lens and got essentially a performance eyewear regardless of its lifestyle-centric silhouette. Today, some 28 years later, Oakley are going to be releasing the Frogskins newest iteration, the “Skate Deck” Series. Each to include Oakley’s famous hi-tech lens known for optimal UV protection and impact resistant (lens are suffering from ANSI Z87.1 test), the Frogskins “Skate Deck” Series also carries a pre-distressed frame, made to mimic a well-worn skateboard deck. A part of Oakley Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, the Frogskins “Skate Deck” Series can be purchased now at select Oakley retailers including Caliroots in Stockholm.
